Back pain is a debilitating problem that will affect most Americans at least once in their lives. The pain can be sudden or slow, occurring anywhere along the spine from the neck to the hip.
It manifests in many different ways with a broad range of presenting symptoms, including:
- Limited flexibility
- Muscle aching in specific area of the back
- Inability to stand up straight
- Shooting pains, sometimes radiating down one leg
Our Minimally-Invasive, Integrated Approach to Back Pain Treatment
In some situations, back pain can be nursed at home and will improve with rest. But when back pain persists and starts to affect daily activities, it’s important to consult a back pain specialist.
At the Spine and Joint Center, located in New Jersey, we have a unique approach to treating back pain. We focus on minimally invasive procedures – which means we can protect our patients from the pain and risk associated with large surgery while offering them an effective solution for their pain.
Choosing minimally invasive spine surgery over open surgery has many benefits – you’ll have less scarring, a shorter hospital stay, reduced post-procedure pain, a shorter recovery period and a reduced risk of infection.
We have a wide range of expert services for back pain, including:
This effective treatment for back pain is delivered by our MD Dr. Damon Noto, who has had training in acupuncture as a specialty. Acupuncture uses the combination of needles, heat and stimulation to promote the body’s natural healing process.
Stem cells are delivered via injection to the site of the pain or damaged tissue. The stem cells (harvested from the patient’s own body) act as “repairmen,” helping to heal and repair the damaged tissue. Normally we deliver around 2-4 sets of injections. You’ll normally see the results of this therapy over a 2-3 month period.
Our MD, Dr. Damon Noto, is a highly-educated leader in his field and uses a holistic and integrated method to target back pain by applying his extensive knowledge of eastern and western medicine.
Dr. Noto’s training in both eastern and western medicine means that he knows how and when eastern practices (such as acupuncture) can best supplement western minimally-invasive treatments for back pain.
“Dr. Noto is one of the best physicians I have ever come in contact with. He has been there for me through my back pain issues from day one until I was able to function again.”
